Upperville Baptist Church
— a heart for the village

Our church has a rich history rooted in the heart of Virginia's hunt country. Recently celebrating our 190th anniversary, UBC has literally rung the church bells since 1833.

We are a Bible-believing church associated with the Southern Baptist Convention and NorthStar Church Network. We adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message.

We are dedicated to teaching the Bible and spreading the love of Jesus. Together, we strive to serve our community as we grow in our faith. One of four churches in the village, UBC enthusiastically participates in community outreach efforts and activities as we partner with all believers to make Christ’s love known to our neighbors in Upperville and the surrounding areas.

We are a “come as you are” congregation and welcome those new to the area, visiting for the weekend, or simply curious about exploring faith.

— and a pastor for the people

Pastor Mike Husfelt joined UBC as the Senior Pastor in 2022, following a rewarding 34-year career as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force. He is the twentieth pastor to serve the congregation.

Pastor Mike is joined in ministry by his wife, Michele, who also serves on staff at NorthStar Church Network. She has served in ministry leadership for 41 years both nationally and internationally.

Pastor Mike and Michele’s greatest accomplishments are their five young adult children and six grandchildren. In addition to visiting their kids located around the world, the Husfelts enjoy traveling and admiring their Goldendoodle, Hazel Grace. Pastor Mike enjoys coffee any time of day while Michele is a self-proclaimed tea connoisseur. They love to connect with their community by hosting ice cream socials, breakfasts at the pastorium, chili dinners and more. And if you’re looking for them on a Thursday night, chances are, they’ll be across the street at Hunter’s Head, taking on the teams at Trivia Night.
